Get Motivated Seminar Sarasota – New Location

Just in case you haven’t heard about this yet, I wanted to make you aware that the venue for the Get Motivated Seminar in Sarasota on May 14th, 2009 has been changed. Our previous post mentioned the originally-scheduled location (which was Robarts Arena on Fruitville Road.)

The event is now officially taking place at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Convention Center at 8005 15th Street East, Sarasota.

That location is on the east side of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport on the road known as “Old 301.” Since it’s North of University Parkway, the site is technically in Manatee County.  And since I’m not connected in any official capacity with this event or with its promoters, I can tell you what they can’t: the building is the former location of Sam’s Club. For those of us who have been in the area for a little while, that can certainly help!

Here’s a map for you.

The official schedule says the event runs on Thursday, May 14th from 8:00am – 5:00pm. Doors open at 6:45am. I’m guessing that you’ll still be able to get in if you haven’t already purchased a ticket, but it may be worth a call to the Peter Lowe organization just to be certain: (800) 248-7640.

See you there!

  1. Will you be posting a calendar list of the upcoming AUGUST TOWN HALL Meetings being held by all representatives in our area?

    Thank you kindly.

Good thinking, T Dreisbach. We definitely should get busy with that!

  2. Glad you agree – I’m hearing people elsewhere are already getting the run-around. It would be nice if we could drill through the gatekeepers & find out something definitive and share with all who may like to attend. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

And this goes not just for the US Reps – but the State Reps/Senators and US Senators as well.

I’d like to look them in the face – if they are so brave as to give We the People the opportunity!

    Thank you for your reply,
    Trisha Dreisbach

Thanks Trisha. Please let me know what you learn. I’ll work on it as well. We’ll bring attention to the dates & times!

    Thanks,

  4. David – guess my passions got ahead of my thinking. Obviously, our State Reps/Sens don’t have the power to effect the current National debacle – so they’re out….unless of course they were to come out & declare their positons & use their access to media to support or oppose their US counterparts. BUT, here’s what I have found (nothing definitive yet!) with re: to the following:

    Congressman Vern Buchanan – http://www.buchanan.house.gov
His office says he held 7 meetings last month, but so far nothing scheduled for this month.
He announces all meetings on his website AND THERE WILL BE SOME – so keep checking
back to the above website for details. Tel #951-6643 SRQ #747-9081 MAN OFFICE

    Senator Bill Nelson – http://www.billnelson.senate.gov – email: senator@billnelson.senate.gov
His office #813-225-7040 TPA and #239-334-7760 FT.MYERS said nothing was set yet
but again to keep checking back to the website above for updates because he will be doing
a series of meetings throughout the state over the next 3 weeks

    Senator Mel Martinez – http://www.martinez.senate.gov
His office also says nothing released yet but will be announced on his site & in the news
when dates are set – BUT just as I hung up, I heard on the radio that not only is he not
running for re-election in 2010, as was previously announced – BUT THAT HE’S
RESIGNING immediately & a news conference will be at 3PM TODAY. Gov. Christ is to
name his successor soon….being a wee bit cynical these days, I imagine the successor may
not be named till after this August recess – but who knows!

That’s all I’ve come up with – will monitor the sites above to see what’s updated & advise if you don’t find out & advise all of us first with a posting on your site. Thanks much.
